Success Stories
Priya
Medicine at Oxford

“My Oxbridge medicine mock interview with Jamie was so useful and a very similar question came up in my Magdalen interview. We also used one of the interviews to practice MMI style questions.”

Jakob
Medicine at Cambridge

“The BMAT resources were excellent. I was particularly struggling with the spatial reasoning questions and the critical thinking ones and the videos were super clear. I felt much more confident going into the exam. The essay plans were also enlightening.”

Hamza
Medicine at Cambridge

“At first I was sceptical about how useful the workshop sessions would be. But when I got to my interview, I found myself drawing upon a lot of what was discussed then. I’m so grateful, as I didn’t get anything close to this at school!”

Greta
Medicine at Oxford

“The Oxbridge Formula saved me when it came to my medical applications. The full package has been really well thought out. The tutors and so friendly and knowledgeable. I got help with UCAT, BMAT, personal statement and interviews. Strongly recommend!”

Medicine is hard to get into at the best of times, but with Oxbridge Medicine being 3-6x harder to get into than standard medicine you absolutely need to ace the BMAT to be in with a chance. There are numerous paps papers available online and whilst the questions aren’t impossible to answer they do feel that way when you are doing them under timed pressure.

So what we’ve done is have our expert tutors explain every single BMAT question to you in video format. We don’t expect you to watch all 1000 videos, but when there’s a question you are stuck on, you’ll be able to see exactly how to do that question, observe all the thought processes that the tutor uses and be able to follow their methods step by step.

Moreover, we’ll draw upon repeatable and generalizable techniques that you will be able to apply to future questions that you study for.

Practice is very much the name of the game. We’ve thrown in hundreds of very realistic practice questions for you to get as much practice as possible, and we’ve accompanied all of those with a video solution so that you’re never stuck.

The BMAT videos cover sections 1, 2, and 3 of the BMAT.

Section 1:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving are some of the most tricky things for medical students to get right. Our section 1 videos really break the processes of tackling such questions down into a formulaic approach which you can apply again and again ensuring you maximise your score in the test.

Section 2:

  • Not only do we explain all the questions in-depth, but we’ve also created 1-hour videos for each of biology, chemistry, and physics with all of the knowledge from the specification explained in detail so that you can be sure you know everything you need for this section.

Section 3:

  • It isn’t always obvious to know what to do for a BMAT essay. Our BMAT essay plan breakdowns describe how you can create an impressive essay in the short time and short amount of space that you’ll have.

Some people think you can’t prepare for Section 1 of the BMAT but that is simply not the case. In our 2-day BMAT problem-solving course we take you through the most tricky types of critical-thinking and problem-solving questions that you’ll likely face in the exam.

We break down the critical-thinking questions by question type and we give you concrete repeatable techniques for how you can tackle each and every one of these questions.

For the problem-solving questions, we’ve identified the most tricky areas for students including dice and cubed questions, spatial reasoning questions, and more!

A must-have course for anyone who wants to improve their BMAT Section 1 score.

Weekly Advanced Biology Interactive Workshops

An Oxbridge Medicine interview is very much like a natural sciences interview – you are going to be asked pure Science questions and you’ll be stretched and extended beyond the current level of your knowledge. When you are asked questions about something that’s at the edge of your knowledge it can be helpful to have some context in this area as it will make you much more confident answering questions on specific topics.

Students are sometimes asked to submit their favorite topics of study before the interview and as a result, if there are some topics that you know inside out and have done wider reading or research on that can be a huge advantage to you when it comes to the Oxbridge Medicine Interview. Therefore the Oxbridge Formula is running a series of weekly 2-hour long advanced biology sessions run by a Cambridge medic. We will be looking at topics such as:

  • Diagnostic Methods and Experimental techniques
  • Introduction to Anatomy
  • Physiology I Organs of the Chest
  • Physiology II Organs of the Abdomen
  • Cell Biology and Genetics
  • Metabolism and Energy
  • Pathology and the Immune System
  • Neuroscience and the Brain
  • Reproduction
  • Pharmacology
  • For medics/vetmed there could be some case studies to practice all the above
  • ..and more
