Hello! I’m Becci, the Tuition Manager here and if you have tuition as part of your programme with us, you’ll be hearing from me!

Louise

Hiya, I’m Louise and I’m the General Manager here at The Oxbridge Formula. Welcome to the programme – I look forward to following your progress!

Chris

Chris is our wonderful, extremely intelligent and remakably humble lead tutor. Even if you’re not taught by him directly, he’ll be ensuring you receive a fabulous educational experience behind the scenes!

Prince

Prince is one of our workshop hosts and will be instrumental in ensuring you have a fantastic experience throughout your time with us. He will be a friendly and enthusiastic presence, and always ready to help!

Frances

Frances is also a course and workshop host here at The Oxbridge Formula. She is passionate about STEM subjects, just like you, and is keen to welcome you to your next workshop!

Physics & Philosophy at Oxford

Having failed to secure an interview when applied the first time, I reapplied in the knowledge that I would have to drastically improve my preparation.

So, I was fortunate to come across your in-person courses. They’re clearly designed to tackle the specific challenges of Maths and Physics entrance tests such as speeding up calculations and getting used to applying known physics to unfamiliar situations. And one of the questions we addressed actually appeared in a modified form in the 2019 PAT!

I would definitely recommend it because it gave me a good insight into the style of question you face in the MAT. The helpers were very friendly and helpful and would always ensure that I understood everything as the course progressed. I found the group work useful in order to discuss ideas with the other students before going through the solution with the tutor.

The last day was focused on sketching graphs and I felt more confident with MAT questions on them

Physics at Oxford

I applied to Oxford to study mathematics and was unsuccessful primarily due to being unprepared for the MAT admissions test. However, I was determined to study at Oxford and reapplied for Physics the following year with a new knowledge of the level of preparation required.

Studying with STEPMaths (now The Oxbridge Formula) transformed my ability to perform strongly in the examination and I was consequently offered a place.

Engineering at Cambridge

I really enjoyed working with the Oxbridge Formula, and I especially benefited from the Physics Summer Course and the Physics-based Interview Day. The summer course was extremely helpful since we were encouraged to think critically when dealing with obscure problems, whilst also reinforcing our A-Level knowledge in Physics and Maths. We also went through time-saving techniques, which is incredibly important for the ENGAA as it is so time-pressured.

Paarul

A first-class Oxford graduate and qualified classroom teacher, Paarul is the founder and visionary behind The Oxbridge Formula and author of The Oxbridge Formula book. Having been an Oxbridge Mentor in a top-10 London independent school and garnered more than 10 years teaching experience, she is committed to helping students fulfil the heights of their potential through hard work, a growth mindset and plenty of problem solving. Together with Lead Tutor Chris, she has helped nearly 3000 students with their Oxbridge applications.

Chris

The Oxbridge Formula’s Senior Oxbridge Tutor, Chris is a first-class Oxford Masters’ graduate with 7 years’ experience mentoring Oxbridge candidates to success. He is the co-author of The Oxbridge Formula and responsible for co-creating many of The Oxbridge Formula’s sell-out admissions test preparation courses. With experience working with students individually and in groups, Chris heads up the tutoring team and ensures a high standard of education is maintained throughout all of The Oxbridge Formula’s courses.

Rohan

Rohan holds a distinction in his Master’s in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from Oxford, after achieving a first in every year of the undergraduate degree. He is pursuing a Master’s in Statistics and Financial Mathematics and is looking to undertake a PhD. An outstanding problem solver with a deep understanding of Physics, Rohan has created a great many resources for The Oxbridge Formula and frequently tutors for us. He is a very skilled mathematician, adept at applying mathematical tricks in Physics problems.

Sam

With a doctorate in Maths and currently working as a maths lecturer at Imperial College London, Sam knows exactly what admissions tutors are looking for. He’s been working with The Oxbridge Formula since its inception and has been instrumental in developing our courses as a highly valued member of our tutoring team. Not just a maths whizz, Sam is an experienced, confident teacher, great at explaining new concepts simply & working through solutions with a group.

Adam

A key member of our tutoring team, Adam graduated with a First from Cambridge, did a PhD in Maths at Imperial, and has now popped back to Cambridge to do a postdoc. What a trajectory! He has a knack for drawing links between seemingly unconnected bits of maths. Experienced as both a group and one-to-one tutor, Adam is a strong communicator and expert problem solver, excited to take on new challenges with students.

Harry

Harry holds a first-class Masters in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, having specialised in Physics and Astronomy. Currently studying for a PhD in Astronomy, he regularly teaches undergraduate physicists at university. A highly insightful and patient tutor, Harry regularly teaches on courses put on by The Oxbridge Formula designed for students sitting the PAT, ENGAA, and NSAA, admissions tests for Oxford and Cambridge respectively.

Josh

Josh is our lead Social Sciences tutor. Having studied at Oxford, he as an extremely articulate and eloquent tutor who’s experience and expertise will allow you to refine your arguments and make sure that you are able to provide the type of nuance that Oxford and Cambridge are looking for at interview. Josh achieved a stellar score of 100% in his critical thinking TSA and has helped hundreds of students to understand the techniques needed for complex TSA critical thinking and problem solving questions. He is able to break difficult concepts down into bite-size chunks to help you boost your score in both the TSA and your interviews.

Grace

Grace, our lead Medicine tutor, has studied both Medicine and BA in Medical Sciences (where she specialised in neuroscience and infection) at the University of Oxford and achieved a first class distinction. She was also awarded 2 academic scholarships and is the Founder and President of a leading medical society at Oxford University. In the BMAT, Grace achieved impressive scores of 6.0 in section 1, 6.2 in section 2 and whopping 5A in section 3, while also scoring a stellar 2785 in the UCAT. Grace is an outstanding tutor and with her wealth of over 300 hours of tutoring she is able to ensure that her students reach their full potential and maximise their chances in applying for such a competitive course.

Maya

Maya scored 5.6, 5.9 and 4A in the BMAT and achieved a phenomenal average of 730 per section in the UCAT, which, combined with an excellent run at interview and a stellar personal statement, allowed her to secure her place at Cambridge University. Since then, Maya has been tutoring and mentoring, acquiring almost three years of experience in aiding students in their academic studies across a variety of subjects, including medicine personal statements/interviews. Maya has worked at The Oxbridge Formula by leading workshop classes and webinars, all aimed at students applying to study medicine. Her vast knowledge on both the subject and the path to gain her place at Cambridge means that she can pass on invaluable knowledge on the ins and outs of the process to her students.
